What is Data Retention

The service goal: Ensure appropriate amounts of NaPTAN data retained long term

The full service design will be published shortly.

We now store representative data for NaPTAN for 100 years in Archive storage.

This was implemented in Oct-Dec 2023

What are the benefits?

We saved 97% of monthly storage costs by putting this in service in place

We were also able to locate the 'last good' version of an LA when there was a problem and load it within 30 mins (more like 10 mins) when we were notified of it
